The Morrisville Senior Servicenter held its much anticipated Star Search Talent Show on Saturday, April 1st.  The program included 34 contestants of all ages and 29 successfully competed for three prizes.  Tickets to the event had sold out in advance.  Cassandra Angst, Miss Pennsylvania, USA, 2017 was the Mistress of Ceremonies.

The winners were:


  • First Place, $1,000:  Miles Borowsky and Brandon Ferraro, both 15 from Yardley, performed an elaborate and intense jump rope routine that amazed the audience and judges.  The jump rope duo will be appearing on Speak Your Piece with Pat Wandling courtesy of WBCB 1490 Radio Station.


  • Second Place, $500:  Emily Higgins, 16 from Newtown, sang Somewhere.  Emily also received a scholarship valued at more than $2,000 to John Casablancas, an internationally known modeling and acting agency.


  • Third Place, $250:  Won by an instrumental group performing Lullaby of Birdland that included Arianna Risilia, 16, Omeed Numan, 16, Ben Venkatesulu, 17, and Julia Baker, 16, all from Yardley.  The group also received lessons and studio recording time courtesy of R&M Music Studios as part of the prize package.


The proceeds of the event benefitted the Morrisville Senior Servicenter, which celebrated its 40th Anniversary in 2016.

A good time was had by all. We thank all of our contestants for participating. A special thanks to our esteemed panel of judges, our event volunteers, and our corporate sponsors for making this event a huge success.
