xBills Hills 2013-4Bill Taylor was a lifelong resident of Fairless Hills and a 2007 graduate of Conwell-Egan Catholic High School. A dedicated and intelligent young man, he ranked in the top 5% of his senior class and on the “Deans List” at Saint Joseph University in Philadelphia. He was an avid runner with a passion he carried for years, through high school and into college.

In August 2010, Bill passed away in a tragic swimming pool accident. In an attempt to carry on and spread the enthusiasm he shared for running, Bill’s family founded the Bill’s Hills 5K run and fun walk. The route takes runners through Bill’s most frequented routes when he ran track for Conwell-Egan, including the Heddington and Wistarwood neighborhoods.

The 3rd annual Bill’s Hills 5K took place on Saturday, September 14, with hundreds of runners attending. All proceeds go toward the William J. Scholarship Fund, established by Diane, Mary and Bill Taylor (top left photo), to be awarded to students at Conwell Egan Catholic High School and Holy Family Regional School.

“It only seems appropriate,” said the Taylors on their website, BillsHills5K.org, “to do our part to ensure that the Catholic Schools, and the students who attend them, continue to thrive. This is where Bill received an excellent education that made him an admirable honors student, as well as taught him to be a loving, friendly and compassionate young man.”
